Angel Heart Society Success Story – Edvards

Oct 19, 2021

ALA Support & Aid to Latvia Office continues its partnership with the Angel Heart Society, whose mission is to financially support motivated, talented, hardworking children and young adults in low-income families in rural areas of Latvia.

Edvards Vītoliņš is 14 years old and an 8th grader at the Limbaži high school. Edvards and his family live in the countryside, where the environment and his parents have taught him a great work ethic. He spends his free time with woodworking. When the world was torn apart by the Covid virus and schools were taught remotely, Edvards spent his free time working with wood. After long hours at the lathe, Edvards produced many wood objects. He is now saving his money to buy a combination planer. The price is about 1270 EUR, which is more than Edvards or his parents can afford. As the new participant of the project “Wings of Talents” – Edvards has a great future as a craftsman. Today we have the opportunity to help a young person learn various woodworking techniques more quickly, both in private lessons and with a combined planer.
