Angel Heart Society Success Stories
KRISTAPS
ALA has started a partnership with the Angel Heart Society, whose mission is to financially support motivated, talented, hardworking children and young adults in low-income families in rural areas of Latvia.
Last summer, at the suggestion of the Bauska SOS village, representatives of the Society “Angel’s Heart” met with a promising young man Kristaps. Kristaps’ childhood has not been easy since Kristaps has spent most of his life in an orphanage. It is a blessing that Kristaps has finally found a new family where he is treated with great respect and gratitude. Kristaps’s dream has been to become a pilot. When we met, we had a good impression of his future intentions as he defined his weaknesses very clearly and showed us his good grasp of the English language. Kristaps is now 15 years old. In order to enroll in a pilot school, Kristaps needs to improve his mathematics skills. “Angel’s Heart” would like to support Kristaps, to obtain private tutoring in math, and also bring Kristaps on a field trip to a school for pilots. Currently “Angel’s Heart” has helped Kristaps to make contact with a Latvian pilot that lives in the U.S. – Normunds Krepšs. The two communicate regularly, Normunds shares in his experiences and inspires Kristaps to reach for his dreams.
