Angel Heart Society Success Stories
KATE
ALA has started a partnership with the Angel Heart Society, whose mission is to financially support motivated, talented, hardworking children and young adults in low-income families in rural areas of Latvia.
Kate Esīte attends the Īslīces primary school in the Bauska region. She is a conscientious, goal oriented, well-rounded girl, with a very serious attitude towards her studies and her responsibilities. She has accomplished many things at her young age. Kate got her first phone finishing the 6th grade, thanks to the Gaižēni Scholarship, which is awarded to the most successful students every year. She works in the student government, participates in various creative competitions and successfully represented the school interregional Latvian language olympics. Kate has been very actively involved and with great success (at the county and state level) working for several years in the student training company “Gudrais kamolītis”, acquiring basic business skills.
In her free time, Kate is consumed with Latvian crafts often forgotten in today’s youth – knitting and weaving bookmarks and folk jewelry. She also loves photography. Kate’s dream is to learn to do it professionally. The Angel Heart Society wants to support Kate’s efforts to get that education. Kate comes from a farming family with limited resources. Donations to pay for photography courses would be essential. Kate will be happy to gift donors one of her hand-made crafts.
