ALA Support & Aid to Latvia Office continues its partnership with the Angel Heart Society, whose mission is to financially support motivated, talented, hardworking children and young adults in low-income families in rural areas of Latvia.
Karolina Zakarevičute lives with her family in Zemgale, on the side of Īslīce – in a country house with a large farm. She is currently studying in the 9th grade and wants to continue her high school education at the Bauska State Gymnasium, studying chemistry and biology in depth, because knowledge in these areas would help to realize Karolina’s dream, which she does not want to share publicly. I guess it’s true that it’s better to dream in your heart and only tell others about them when they come true!
Karolina has been studying at the Īslīce elementary school since the 1st grade, and next spring she will take the exams in order to continue her education in her chosen high school. “Sincere, friendly and helpful. Quiet in the class group, chooses not to boast or stand out. She draws beautifully, studies diligently, participates in school and class events and various competitions. Excellent behavior.” says teacher Egita Dreimane.
To fulfill her dream, Karolina would need the support from others, because it is not possible to fulfill the wishes of every child in the family. Her family are the caretakers of the family farm as well as care for their aging grandmother. Lend a hand, if you have such an opportunity, so that Karolina can work towards fulfilling her dream and attend classes at the Laboratorium Science School.
