The Office of Support & Aid to Latvia actively supports the program “Spārno talantus”, where one of the talented young people from low-income families in Latvia who have come to the attention of the association “Enģeļa sirds” (Angel Heart) is nominated. These families are unable to pay for additional educational classes or camps where their offspring could cultivate and develop a special talent.
This month’s project “Spārno talantus!” participant Beāte Bāņukalne studies in the 8th grade of Bērzaune elementary school. She is a creative, purposeful, and talented girl who can be relied on by schoolmates, teachers, and the girl’s family. Beāte is very active in the social life of the class and school. She works in the co-management of Bērzaune elementary school, participates in managing events, sings in the school choir, works in a student learning company, and attends media literacy classes. Along with that, she often participates in various competitions and is always determined to achieve more. Beāte’s heart is art. It brings her the greatest joy and satisfaction. Three times a week, the girl enthusiastically goes to the Jānis Simsons Madona Art School, where she learns various drawing and painting techniques and acquires knowledge about the artistic trends she is interested in. In her spare time, Beāte is also passionate about developing her talent. She draws in various techniques and often participates in drawing competitions, winning places and recognitions.
To support Beāte’s dream of becoming a student of the Academy of Arts, we invite you to donate to the ALA Office of Support & Aid to Latvia, “Spārno talantus” program with an indication to Beāte Bāņukalne, which will provide support for the purchase of materials, such as various types of painting paints, brushes, canvases, as well as participation in master classes with a professional artist.
