Board Resolutions
Resolution Nr. 1
The ALA Board decides to continue to host the ALA 70th Congress in the city of Chicago from October 22-24. The ALA office will send out registration information this week, and the board will look at early registration responses and decide on September 15th if an in-person congress will have to be canceled due to the pandemic.
Resolution Nr. 2
The ALA Board accepts the revised 2021 budget.
Resolution Nr. 3
The ALA Board accepts the proposed 2022 budget.
Resolution Nr. 4
The ALA Board authorizes Treasurer A. Grīviņš to continue working with the Willis Law firm to study the rules of unused scholarship funds and to issue $15,000 to move the project forward.
Resolution Nr. 5
The ALA Board accepts the financial report dated July 31st, 2021.
Resolution Nr. 6
The ALA Board decides to offer a membership-boosting “pilot program” to local organizations in the city hosting the 70th Congress (Chicago). The organizations will have the opportunity to offer 2022 ALA memberships at half price to those joining or renewing their local memberships. New ALA members will be required to provide contact information to ALA.
Resolution Nr. 7
The ALA Board decides to financially support the Catskill camp with a $20,000 donation and Garezers with an additional $15,000 donation to fulfill the ALA pledge to support Latvian schools and camps in the United States this summer.
Resolution Nr. 8
The ALA Board assigns the ALA Staff Care Commission to prepare a plan for the best approach to hire a new employee to cover the ALA travel and internship programs.
Resolution Nr. 9
The ALA Board supports the ALA office in starting a “historical photography exhibition” project in digitized format.
