Youth tours
The “Sveika, Latvija!” trip language will be Latvian. Participants must understand conversational Latvian and be able to express themselves in Latvian.
There will be two “Sveika, Latvija!” trips in 2026:
- June 7 – 18
- August 9 – 20
The “Heritage Latvia” trip has less emphasis on the Latvian language. More suitable for participants that are not as comfortable understanding or speaking Latvian.

*The June “Sveika, Latvija!” and “Heritage Latvia” trips will fly together to Riga, but will have their own itinerary in Latvia.
Register- All trips are a 10-day (not including arrival and departure days) intense bus tour of Latvia’s four regions and Rīga. All tours follow a concrete plan that explores Latvia’s and the Latvian culture, Latvia’s history and nature and Latvia as a 21st. C. Country.
- Each stop will explore the history and culture of the location with guided tours, hikes, excursions, specific creative projects, city walks, lectures, and recreational activities.
- During the trip, the participants will spend several focused days with Latvian peers from a chosen city getting acquainted.
- The tour price includes flight (if flying with the group) from USA to Riga, three meals a day, admission fees, accommodation expenses, transport in Latvia, etc. Travel expenses to departing airport are the financial responsibility of each family.
The 2026 full trip fee is $4,150.00.
ALA gifts each US participant with an $800.00 scholarship.
Trip fee after scholarship:
$3,350.00 – program fee and flight for US residents.
$2,850.00 – program fee for participants choosing to not fly with group. Participants responsible for flight.
