Donations to the Latvian Museum in Memory of Lilita Bergs

Jun 29, 2023

With deep respect and gratitude, the American Latvian Association commemorates Lilita Bergs, the late director of the ALA Latvian Museum (born on February 15, 1941, in Liepāja, Latvia, died on August 26, 2022, in Rockville, Maryland). Lilita’s life-long work involved protecting and managing Latvia’s cultural heritage, telling the stories from the Displaced Persons era, and interpreting the Latvian-American immigrant experience. Her efforts will long be remembered.

We invite you to help support the newly upgraded museum and its interpretive mission in memory of Lilita. To help sustain the museum’s educational goals and reach out to broader audiences:

  • Please send a check written to “American Latvian Association” to ALA, 400 Hurley Ave, Rockville, MD 20850, and in the memo section, note that it is for “Museum / In memory of Lilita Bergs”, or
  • Donate electronically with a credit or debit card on the ALA website: https://alausa.org/en/participate/donate-to-ala/ (as the purpose of donation, choose In Memory and type “Museum / In memory of Lilita Bergs”).
