Answer Survey to Help with Classification of Latvian Archives!

Feb 03, 2021

The World Federation of Free Latvians (WFFL/PBLA) invites Latvians worldwide to assist in determining the extent of Latvian archive materials held by Latvian diaspora communities, by responding to this questionnaire. The aim of this project is to create a digital map of the scope and location of historic archive resources within Latvian diaspora communities worldwide to potentially enable limited academic access and further work on saving and maintaining this important material.

This questionnaire represents the initial phase of the project, in wich the WFFL/PBLA seeks to determine the scope and the location of the archival materials posessed by the Latvian communities and individuals, and the time periods covered by the archives.

We envision that the second phase of this project will involve informational seminars, in which professionals will guide the public to the best ways of documenting, cataloguing and maintaining these important historical resources.

We can assure you that the data collected in this survey will only be made public by way of general summary. No contact information or any private details provided by the respondents will be shared or publicised. Contact information will be used only for direct communication in the future phases of this project.
