Angel Heart Society Success Stories
LINDA
ALA has started a partnership with the Angel Heart Society, whose mission is to financially support motivated, talented, hardworking children and young adults in low-income families in rural areas of Latvia.
Linda Sakne is a 17-year-old girl in 10th grade at Bauska High School. She comes from a family of four children. Their mother is the sole breadwinner in the family and, unfortunately, has health problems. She works to support her family, but barely makes ends meet. Linda’s childhood has not been carefree and full of joy. Linda and her siblings have been working since early childhood during the summer holidays to earn money and to help support their family. Linda has good grades – her favorite subjects are chemistry, physics, literature, English and sports. Linda’s dream is to become a physical education teacher. In her free time, Linda is involved in freestyle wrestling and already has high achievements, winning many 1st and 2nd place prizes in both Latvia and in international competitions. She is very persistent and driven, actively training every day. Linda hopes to find assistance to purchase specialized sportswear and to attend freestyle wrestling camps.
