Angel Heart Society Success Stories – Kate

Nov 21, 2022

ALA Support & Aid to Latvia Office continues its partnership with the Angel Heart Society, whose mission is to financially support motivated, talented, hardworking children and young adults in low-income families in rural areas of Latvia.

Kate Grava is in the 9th grade of Liepupe high school and she is 15 years old. From an early age, Kate has been very interested in everything related to art and biology. She lives in the countryside with her family – mother, father and younger brother. She has been collecting and researching animal bones in the forest for the past 4 years. Her collection includes 30 animal skulls and about 50 other bones.

A year ago, Kate graduated from Salacgriva Art School. While studying, she successfully participated in the visual art competitions, participated in creative workshops at the Academy of Arts.

For many years, she was involved with the Eco-School Council, always supporting initiatives that resulted in a gentle attitude towards nature. She is currently the chairwoman of the school’s student council and is involved in the Erasmus + project “Ecogames in her curriculum”.

In her spare time, Kate likes to draw people and cats. Kate has focused on studying human and animal anatomy so that her portrayal is as accurate as possible. Kate would like to attend courses with a focus on biology and chemistry, where she could acquire knowledge and skills that would allow her talents to be developed. We invite you to support the young artist and nature specialists!
