Goal oriented rower – Eliza Tāre

The Office of Aid and Support to Latvia actively supports the program “Spārno talantus”, where one of the talented young people from low-income families in Latvia who have come to the attention of the association “Enģeļa sirds” is nominated. These families are unable to pay for additional educational classes or camps where their offspring could cultivate and develop a special talent.

Eliza Tare is a motivated fourteen-year-old athlete. She lives in Bauska and is a 7th grader at the Basuka State Gymnasium. In parallel with her studies, she trains in Baldones rowing club in her spare time, specializing in slalom canoeing. Eliza says that this sport is a matter of her heart, which she realized after the first training – it makes her happy, and the girl really wants to continue developing her skills in a purposeful way.

Although Eliza turned to rowing relatively recently, she has already managed to win prize-winning places in various championships in the Baltic countries. These achievements are the result of dedicated work – Eliza trains actively every day, attending classes with a trainer six times a week, performing various types of physical strength exercises, as well as preparatory exercises with a boat.

Currently, the athlete is looking forward to the opening of her 2024 season. Eliza is determined to represent Latvia in 2024 World Junior and U23 Rowing Slalom Championships to be held in Slovakia. The young athlete says that to successfully prepare for these championships, she needs to participate in training camps, where she would develop her physical abilities and technical skills together with other motivated young people and professional trainers. To make this possible, she needs support so that the family can cover the costs of participating in these camps.

To support Eliza’s goal to help make Latvia’s name known in the world with her talent in rowing and her determination to aim higher, we invite you to donate to ALA Office of Aid and Support in Latvia, Enģeļa sirds, with an indication to Eliza Tāre. Thank you!
