AMANDA
ALA Support & Aid to Latvia Office continues its partnership with the Angel Heart Society, whose mission is to financially support motivated, talented, hardworking children and young adults in low-income families in rural areas of Latvia.
Amanda is 12 years old and is a 6th grade student at the Priežmala elementary school. She is one of 5 children in her family. From 1st grade, Amanda has attended the Latvian equivalent to 4H – “Latvijas mazpulki”, which today is the largest and strongest youth non-governmental organization in Latvia, with practical work and informal education. It guarantees the growth of Latvian leaders and young entrepreneurs, implementing and introducing environmentally friendly activities and teaching young people to love their homeland.
Amanda has inherited her interest in herbal plants from her mother. In the summer, Amanda volunteers as a guide, providing nature tours, explaining the benefits of herbs and herbal teas. Amanda also designs and sews costumes, sings at the Aglona Basilica Choir School, and helps her parents with yard work. Amanda plans to study Pharmacy. She still has a long way to go. Amanda needs financial support in order to further her education and attend suplemental camps. The Angel Heart Society has chosen to support Amanda. Will you join them helping her acheive her goals?
