Since 1997, ALA has organized educational trips to Latvia to offer young people of Latvian origin an opportunity to maintain and further develop their Latvian identity, to use and improve their Latvian language, to strengthen their ties with Latvian society, and to develop and maintain contact with Latvia.

ALA offers three educational tours to Latvia. Two are for young people of Latvian heritage aged 13-15 Sveika, Latvija! and Heritage Latvia and one for adults and families Sveika Dzimtene/Hello Latvia.
ALA offers two youth educational trips to Latvia. Both trips are similar and equally meaningful.
The American Latvian Association Hello, Latvia! / Sveika, Dzimtene travel program offers two unique heritage tours for adults and families that offer an opportunity to connect to cultural identity, history and, traditions.
The trips are a perfect introduction for family and friends to a vibrant 21st C. European country renowned for its beautiful shoreline, majestic forests, ancient customs, historic castles, and Art Nouveau architecture.
The trips have been sponsored by The Society Integration Fund of the State budget of Latvia.

All U.S. participants will receive a scholarship from the Daugavas Vanagi USA.
