The ALA board held its quarterly meeting this past weekend in Washington, DC. For three days, we discussed future plans, program budgets, and new projects.
On Saturday morning, Ambassador Māris Selga addressed the board, and the Latvian Minister of Justice Jānis Bordāns introduced the board to his team’s plans for reform. The minister mentioned possible avenues for cooperation, especially in helping to find legal experts in the U.S. to assist with realizing the reforms.
On Saturday night, we shared a holiday dinner with Embassy staff and other local ALA partners and friends.
