On October 1, ALA board members, along with other representatives of the World Federation of Free Latvians (WFFL) met with President of Latvia Egils Levits and his advisors. We are thankful for the opportunity and look forward to future cooperation. On that same day, WFFL representatives met with the Minister of Defense Artis Pabriks.
After a successful two-day WFFL Cultural Conference in Cesis and a series of meetings with representatives of the Latvian government, the WFFL annual meeting is now in session. Yesterday, the President of Latvia Egils Levits addressed participants at the opening ceremony for the WFFL meeting at the Small Guild. The meeting continues at “Radi un Draugi”, where the WFFL member organizations, representing Latvians from all over the world, report on their current greatest challenges and how to cooperate in areas of cultural and educational policy that affect the Latvian diaspora.
