On March 23, schools in Latvia are back after spring break. Schools are now trying to put into place virtual opportunities for students to continue their studies, but the Ministry of Education estimates that about 3% (thousands) of children do not have computers or smart devices at home with which to continue their education during the epidemic. ALA’s “Support and Aid to Latvia” office has long collaborated with the Children’s Fund of Latvia, which now has information on many of the families that are in need of computers for educational purposes. The Latvian government has promised 200,000 EUR and LMT and BITE Latvia have offered to purchase 5000 devices. Let’s join this initiative and help!
