On September 18–20, 2026, we invite you to a special event—the American Latvian Association’s 75th Anniversary Congress. We are returning to where it all began—the capital, Washington, DC, where ALA was founded in 1951.
HOTEL
The Congress will take place at Hilton Arlington Rosslyn The Key (1900 Fort Myer Drive, Arlington, VA 22209), which overlooks the Potomac River, Georgetown, and the monuments of Washington, DC. A special group rate of $189 per night will be available for attendees.
Hotel Reservations (Reserve by August 26!)
PROGRAM
As usual, the program will include valuable discussions on the priorities of Latvian centers and member organizations, as well as ALA’s priorities and plans for the upcoming operating year, Latvian national security, politics, culture, and education. This year will also feature several distinguished guests and festive events—including not only a celebratory ball, but also a boat cruise on the Potomac River.
(Dress Code for both evenings: Cocktail Attire / Dark Suit requested)
Thursday evening:
Arriving early for the ALA Congress on Thursday? Stop by the Open Road Rosslyn bar for happy hour from 4:00–7:00 PM—just around the corner from the hotel! This is not a formally organized event and no advance reservation is required, but we recommend it as a convenient nearby spot to enjoy a small plate and a drink and start meeting fellow Latvians before settling in at the hotel for the evening. If you prefer, you can also reserve a table directly with the restaurant. Wear a Latvian T-shirt or something in Latvian flag maroon red to make it easier to recognize one another! Open Road Rosslyn (1201 Wilson Blvd, Arlington, VA 22209)
REGISTRATION
DELEGATE REGISTRATION (by September 1)
This registration form is intended only for organization delegates. All other Congress attendees and guests may register by purchasing Congress registration and/or tickets for the events they wish to attend.
PAYMENT (by September 1)
Payment can be made using the credit card form below or by sending a check to ALA.
To celebrate ALA’s 75th anniversary, ALA is subsidizing $100 of the cost of each boat cruise ticket, making the price for ALA members just $75 (regular price: $175). The deadline for joining the cruise is a few days earlier than for the other events – only until August 27th.
Please note: Private dining room seating for our group on the boat trip is currently sold out. Tickets purchased from this point forward do not guarantee seating in the private dining room for dinner. Participants may instead be seated in the public dining room alongside other guests. However, all ticket holders will be welcome to join and mingle with our Latvian group throughout the rest of the boat trip.
