ALA’s 70th anniversary Congress will take place in Chicago from October 21 – 24. On Thursday evening, October 21, we invite you to join us for an informal reception at the legendary Driehaus museum. The Congress official opening ceremony will be on Friday, October 22 at the W Chicago-Lakeshore hotel.
Speakers who have confirmed their participation are Minister of Foreign Affairs Edgars Rinkēvičs; Ambassador for Diaspora Affairs Elita Gavele; the director of ziedot.lv, Rūta Dimanta; journalists and Latvian radio program “Global Latvian” director Agnese Drunka.
The Friday evening event will take place on the Odyssey cruise on Lake Michigan, and the keynote speaker will be Edgars Rinkēvičs. The Saturday night event will take place near the hotel in Chicago, precise location TBD.
