The mission of the Cultural Affairs office is to promote, support, sustain and maintain diverse opportunities for the expression of Latvian culture for 21st century Latvians living in the U.S.<\/p>\nValda Grinberga, Director, Office of Cultural Affairs<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

In order to fulfill the mission, the Cultural Affairs Office works closely with the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Latvia, the Embassy for the Republic of Latvia in the United States and PBLA (World Federation of Free Latvians).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Director of Cultural Affairs is Valda Grinberga<\/a>. The ALA Cultural Foundation<\/a>, which is led by Inese Stravelli<\/a>, also operates in conjunction with the Cultural Affairs office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By encouraging and enhancing opportunities to experience firsthand the Latvian cultural heritage, the Foundation and its grant recipients have contributed for years to the vitality and diversity of culture in America.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

\n Lifetime Achievement Awards<\/span>\n <\/h3>\n <\/a>\n <\/div>\n

Every year, ALA presents Lifetime Achievement awards to organizations and individuals for outstanding achievements in advocating Latvian culture and communities.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

\n Support to Local Latvian Communities<\/span>\n <\/h3>\n <\/a>\n <\/div>\n
